Apex Legends is done with the original Nintendo Switch. Season 30, "Marked," rolled out today with zero downtime straight out of Season 29 — and Season 29 was the last content the original Switch version will ever receive.

Going forward, new seasons are Switch 2-only. Respawn confirmed that anything already earned or purchased on the original Switch — Apex Coins, cosmetics, progression — carries over to Switch 2, even for players who don't pick up the newer hardware until after today. It softens the cutoff somewhat, but the original Switch version itself is now effectively frozen in place.

As for what's actually in the new season: "Marked" reworks Bloodhound into a considerably more aggressive Legend, with enemies now leaving a visible trail after taking hits, a longer-range tactical scan, and a new Ultimate — Allfather's Cloak — that grants bonus movement speed and threat vision to any nearby teammate. World's Edge also got reshaped alongside a pass on weapon balance.

It's a familiar pattern by now — free-to-play live-service games increasingly treating Switch 2 as the baseline and letting the original hardware quietly fall behind. Apex joins a growing list making that same call this generation.
