Pokémon Pokopia has passed 5 million copies sold worldwide, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company announced, combining physical and digital sales since the game launched on March 5, 2026. That's just over four months to hit the milestone.

Pokopia is a Switch 2 exclusive life-sim built around crafting and building, casting the player as a shapeshifting Ditto restoring a rundown stretch of land using its transformation powers alongside more conventional crafting tools. It's a lower-key release than a mainline generation or a VGC-focused title like Champions, closer in spirit to a cozy management game than a traditional Pokémon adventure.

The number is notable next to Nintendo's own hardware figures: 5 million copies works out to roughly one sale for every five Switch 2 consoles currently in players' hands, a strong attach rate for a game that isn't a flagship mainline release. It also lands in the same window as Pokopia's first expansion content, the Bubbly Basin DLC, which has been adding new areas, a Sharpedo submarine, additional outfits, and new recipes since its release.

Between Pokopia's numbers, the Ascended Heroes and 30th Celebration TCG sets, and Pokémon Champions taking over as the official VGC platform, 2026 has been a genuinely busy year for the franchise even without a new mainline generation to lean on, that's still a year out with Winds & Waves.
