Buried under August's parade of AAA ports hitting Switch 2 is a much smaller, much stranger release: Big Walk, the new game from House House, the Melbourne studio behind Untitled Goose Game. It launches August 4 alongside other platforms.
House House is calling Big Walk a cooperative online "walker-talker." A handful of friends set out together across a wide-open world, and the core of the experience is exactly what the name suggests — moving through the space together and talking, with puzzles and small discoveries scattered along the way rather than combat or a conventional objective list.
It's a real departure from Untitled Goose Game's format. Where Goose Game was tightly scripted mischief inside a single English village, Big Walk sounds closer to an open-world hangout game built specifically around co-op — less about solving a checklist and more about the walk itself.
House House has already shown once that a small, odd idea can turn into something people can't stop talking about. Big Walk isn't getting anywhere near the marketing push of this month's bigger ports, but given the studio's track record, it's worth keeping on the radar.
