Nintendo has confirmed its Gamescom 2026 lineup, and the headline is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 — running as a native Switch 2 build, not a cloud-streamed version.

Nintendo's booth in Hall 9 at Koelnmesse in Cologne will offer nine playable titles from August 26–30: 007 First Light, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, EA Sports FC 27, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Minecraft Dungeons 2, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, Orbitals, Pokémon Pokopia's Expansion Pass, and Splatoon Raiders. Nintendo's announcement left room for more, saying additional titles are still to come.

Modern Warfare 4 is the real story here. It's the first Call of Duty title publicly playable on Nintendo hardware in more than ten years, and Nintendo is emphasizing that this isn't a compromise version — Infinity Ward, working with Digital Legends, is building it natively for Switch 2 rather than relying on cloud streaming the way some past attempts to bring the series to Nintendo platforms have. The game releases October 23, with Switch 2 pre-orders opening August 26, the same day Gamescom's showfloor opens.

Worth noting: Gamescom's dates (Aug 26–30) run right alongside the Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco (Aug 28–30) — two of the year's biggest events overlapping almost exactly. Anyone trying to follow both will have a busy few days.
